Post-it 3M

Brainstorm, capture, share!

overview

The Post-it® App extends the physical Post-it® Note into a connected digital platform. It allows users to capture handwritten notes, transcribe them automatically, organize ideas on boards, and collaborate across mobile and desktop. The project was developed at Framna in collaboration with the Post-it® team at 3M, as part of a broader effort to evolve the brand’s digital ecosystem while preserving the immediacy of analog ideation.

challenge

Post-it® notes are simple by design. The challenge was to maintain that simplicity while introducing new capabilities: camera capture at scale, handwriting recognition, board organization, real-time collaboration, cross-device synchronization, and third-party integrations. The product needed to support complex collaboration workflows while still feeling fast, lightweight, and intuitive, preserving the creative flow that defines the physical product.

Role

I worked on the project as Lead Product Designer at Framna, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and the Post-it® team at 3M. My role focused on defining the product experience and interaction while contributing hands-on to design execution. I explored new features, designed user flows, and built prototypes to test ideas and communicate them across teams. I also helped evolve the design system foundations, translating legacy design patterns into a more structured system by introducing variables, tokens, and scalable component structures in Figma to improve consistency and collaboration with engineering.

IMPACT

The project helped extend the Post-it® ecosystem into a collaborative digital product while preserving the simplicity of the physical notes. Users could capture handwritten ideas, organize them on shared boards, and collaborate across devices while integrating with tools such as Miro, Trello, Dropbox, PowerPoint, and Excel. Internally, clearer interaction patterns and improved design system practices helped create a more scalable foundation for the product and improved collaboration between design and engineering teams.

All projects presented on this website were developed while working within companies, studios, or as an independent freelancer. The work spans commissioned assignments and studio-led initiatives across different contexts and collaborations. Most projects are the result of multidisciplinary teams contributing across strategy, design, and production. Those associated with a specific company or studio were created during my time working within those organisations. Each collaboration has been an opportunity to learn, refine, and build alongside others. The outcomes reflect shared thinking, shared responsibility, and the collective effort behind the work.
